Roundtable discussion with Dr. Jean-Claude Weill

SBM's young invites you to a roundtable discussion with the prestigious immunologist Dr. Jean-Claude Weill. 23rd May, 03:30 p.m., IBGC (conference room)

Dr. Jean-Claude Weill is an immunologist specialized on B lymphocytes. He received his PhD in biochemistry from Paris Diderot University in 1980. From 1982 – 87 he was a group leader at Institut Jacques Monod in Paris. He then became a permanent member of the Basel Institute of Immunology until 1991. In 1992 he became a professor at the Faculté de Médecine Paris Descartes University and director of INSERM U373 “Development of the Immune System”. In 2001 he became a scientific co-director of INSERM U783  “Development of the Immune System” in Faculté de Médecine Paris Descartes University.

During his long carreer, together with Claude-Agnès Reynaud (40 years of scientific partnership !), they made important contributions to the field concerning B cell ontogeny, diversification and long-term memory. They mentored many students and post-docs with kindness and goodwill. Their scientific passion was insipiring emulation for all the team.  He is now a professor emeritus at Paris Descartes University.
